Habegger rope hoists at the Olten Fire Department
Fire departments and rescue services use our Habegger rope hoists specifically for rescue, recovery, and securing operations. Manual rope hoists in particular are used where loads need to be moved, secured, or pulled in a controlled manner without electricity.
The purely mechanical rope hoists impress with their reliability and complete independence from power sources. Possible uses in firefighting:

- Securing objects: Temporarily stabilizing a building or structural element at risk of collapse. Securing vehicles or equipment against slipping when working on slopes.
- Rescuing people from heights or depths (in combination with pulleys, anchor points, and redundant rope systems)
- Rope-assisted rescues when mechanical winches are unavailable or too dangerous. Works anywhere, even in rough terrain or buildings.
- Technical assistance without a motor. Ideal when no electricity, hydraulics, or vehicle with a winch can be used.
Advantages of manual rope hoists:
- Independent of electricity or vehicles.
- Precisely adjustable, allowing loads to be moved millimeter by millimeter.
- Flexible, can be combined with wire rope of any length.
- Safety: The two clamping jaws transport the rope reliably and hold the load securely when the rope pull is not being moved.
