We mourn the loss of Rudolf Lehmann
It is with regret that we say goodbye to Rudolf Lehmann, who passed away on December 15, 2024 after an illness. Since 1988, Rudolf shaped our company as an engineer, pioneer and long-standing member of the management team.
Rudolf Lehmann joined Jakob Rope Systems in 1988 and played a key role in shaping our company for decades.
As an engineer and visionary, Rudolf played a key role in the expansion of our architecture business. Rudolf was a key player, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s, when Jakob Rope Systems expanded its range of ropes and components for architecture.
From 1991, Rudolf was also a driving force in building up our export business. During the years of expansion, he played a key role in building up our global network of sales partners and branches – a network that now exists in over 55 countries worldwide.
Rudolf's expertise and passion were particularly focused on zoo enclosures, structural solutions for securing bridges and buildings, and the greening of facades and urban spaces. His enthusiasm and tireless commitment led to groundbreaking construction projects in these disciplines around the world. Much of this was the result of exchanges with our customers, partners, architects, zoo planners, landscape designers and scientists.
It was not only his great expertise as an engineer, but also his fluency in French that made Rudolf an indispensable contact, including for our customers and partners in French-speaking Switzerland and France, where he was greeted with great appreciation as “Monsieur Lehmann”.

For all of us at Jakob Rope Systems – employees and partners – Rudolf was much more than a colleague. Rudolf was our friend, mentor, supporter, creator of ideas and helper. With his humor, his warmth and his open ear for every challenge, he was always ready to explore new paths with us.
Rudolf's creativity, courage and wealth of ideas repeatedly led to exciting innovations, new products and groundbreaking solutions. We will miss his tireless enthusiasm for progress and collaboration.
Dear Ruedi, thank you for the wonderful time with you. You have enriched our company and our lives. We will miss you very much.
