Rising transport costs: Price increase surcharge of 5%
Due to increased transport costs, Jakob Rope Systems will be introducing a 5% price surcharge on the sales prices of its architectural product range, effective June 1, 2026. Services, existing offers, previously negotiated prices, and hoisting and lifting equipment including Habegger rope hoists are excluded.

The ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and their repercussions on international air and sea transport are creating significant pressure on the global transport and logistics market. Blocked or restricted sea routes, along with restrictions on international air travel, increasingly affect global supply chains, transport capacity and procurement costs.
Cancelled flights, higher fuel prices and the diversion of many shipments to alternative routes have caused a global reduction in air and transport capacity. Simultaneously, restricted international shipping routes are leading to longer transport times and additional logistical challenges. All of this is causing rising air and sea freight rates. There is unfortunately no sign of any short-term improvement on the horizon.
As an internationally active company, Jakob Rope Systems is also affected by these developments. The persistently high transport costs are leading to additional expenses, which we cannot fully offset at present.
Jakob Rope Systems is consequently applying a 5% price surcharge to the sales prices in its Architecture product range. This applies to all orders placed on or after 1 June 2026. This surcharge does not apply to our services, existing quotes while they are valid, or prices that have already been agreed. Our range of hoisting and lifting equipment, including Habegger rope hoists also remains unaffected.
Should the situation in the international transport markets ease in the long term, we will, of course, review the surcharges again and adjust them accordingly.
