Gubrist Tunnel, Switzerland, 2023

Webnet will green concrete elements

As a trellis structure on the ventilation buildings of the Gubrist Tunnel, Webnet creates an economical solution for greening small spots in urban areas. The ground-based greenery will develop lushly in 2 – 3 years.

The Weinigen ventilation structures are part of the expansion of the Gubrist Tunnel near Zurich. The concrete elements stand out from the landscape and create an interesting contrast. Jakob Rope Systems was allowed to equip the buildings with trellis structures made of Webnet and stainless steel ropes. The surfaces will be fully greened in only 2 – 3 years.

This project is a very efficient application for greening with our Webnet:

  • Great potential for greening in urban areas
  • Very economical solution with low maintenance
  • Ground-based greening, no planters and no irrigation needed
  • Stainless steel structure and plants create interesting shadows
  • Webnet is manufactured at our factory to precisely fit the geometry of the building
