Surfer paradise

The Wave

A unique artificial wave needs a unique railing system

The Wave’ is an inland surfing centre that enables surfers of all ages and abilities to surf on consistent, safe waves all year round.

Our partner in the UK, MMA Architectural, advised on materials and supplied 417 sqm of our Jakob Webnet stainless steel wire mesh system, the material being used as balustrade infill for the 100 m viewing pier and 1,000 sqm clubhouse at this unique surfing destination, which provides safe waves for surfers of all abilities.

Webnet was specified for the project due to its outstanding performance, quality and durability, with the system’s anti-fall properties aligning perfectly with the architect’s design. All in all, it was the perfect solution for the £25m Wave project.

The 1.5 mm Webnet system provides an unrestricted, yet completely safe view from both the clubhouse and pier, providing spectators with a unique opportunity to not only watch the surfers, but also to see at close quarters the incredible swell created from around 1,000 waves per hour.
