National technical approval for Webnet will be extended
The use of our Webnet rope net with rope diameters from 1.5 mm up to 5 mm as fall protection has already been approved by the German approval body. As a core component of vertical and horizontal safety net applications, the Webnet has proven itself universally with our customers. Jakob Rope Systems is now extending this approval (Z-14.7-557) for the Webnet micro (rope diameter 2 mm).
In order to obtain the approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt), we commissioned an expert report. In this report, Webnet micro successfully passed a series of static and dynamic tests. For example, impact scenarios were carried out with different mesh sizes and frame sizes. Among other things, the rope nets were dynamically loaded by various drop bodies from different drop heights.
With the now available report, the most important step towards extending the approval for Webnet has been completed. We will be happy to inform our customers as soon as the final formal step of the approval extension by DIBt has been achieved.
Webnet stainless steel mesh is made for indoor and outdoor applications. Installed on railings or in stairways, it provides support and guidance. On facades it can serve as a climbing aid for plants and in large rooms it can set filigree accents as dividing elements. An important advantage is its filigree structure. Particularly in zoo enclosures or protective nets, Webnet enables minimal obstruction of view.
